Softball and cross country has busy weeks!! Our clubs have started full blast and the first progress reports have been sent home!! The school year is in full blast!
Homecoming week is upon us!! We hope all our students will participate in dress up days and attend the game and dance next Friday and Saturday night!!
Softball will have senior night on Tuesday at home vs Liberty County!! We are hoping to win the doubleheader on Tuesday and host the region tournament!!!

Our softball team did great this week winning all three games! Our JV football team won 7-0 on Thursday and the varsity team came up just short on Friday night, but it was a great game! Our cross country boys placed 7th out of 19 and Sean Altamirano finished with the top time of 19:12.
I wanted to remind everyone that we have changed Oct. 11 to a student day!
Monday night this week we will have Senior Night at 6:00 with lots of colleges and military recruiters on hand to assist! There will be some give-aways as well!

We hope that everyone was able to stay safe during the passing of Hurricane Dorian. I pray that we don’t have anymore hurricanes come through for the remainder of the season.
Our athletic teams did not compete for most of the week due to the weather, but our football team did come up with a big win on Friday night against Atkinson County. It is the first time in a decade that BCHS started the season 2-0. Come support the boys on Friday night at home to Jeff Davis!
On Saturday our FFA hosted a very successful hog show at the Ag barn! They had a huge turnout!

Reminder that we do not have school on Monday, it is Labor Day.
We have had a great week at BCHS. We had our first pep rally and the student body really enjoyed it and showed great school spirit! We also voted on the homecoming court, which will be announced in the near future.
Students grades are in full blast. Please make sure that you have access to your students Powerschool information so you can track their grades and also to our school app to receive updates from the school system. Progress reports go out this Friday!
Our cross country team has been working hard this week to prepare for the season!
Our softball team dropped their second game of the season to Camden County this week, but they won both their region games this week! The Lady Herons are 4-0 in region play!
Our football team beat Charlton County 34-16 on Friday night for a big opening win! Our players work in the weight room really showed on Friday night!

Our football team was off this week and the cross country team finished 6th out of 9 team at their first meet. Great job to our Cross Country team.

We had a great first full week at BCHS! Students schedules were finalized and we are getting the grove of our classwork. Please make sure that you have your students information for the new APP that links to powerschool and other events at BCHS! This will be a great way for you to receive communication from the school and to keep an eye on your students grades and attendance.
We greatly appreciate our student resource officers and their continued efforts to keep our campus safe and secure. The maintainence department is currently working to complete the entry control point building at the middle school entrance and we hope to have that complete in the next handful of weeks.
Our softball team won their games this week and played three games on Saturday, where they won 2 and dropped 1. Our football team play 6:26 on Friday night and had an impressive scoring drive before have the game cancelled due to possible lightning in the area. Our cross country team will be up and going this week and we know they will have a wonderful season!
I would like to continue to encourage your student to get involved in a club… the graduate rate is much higher for students involved in an extra curricular activity than those that are not.

We had a great start to the school year! We were able to meet with all students and get most schedule changes fixed! Our new safety measures have been implemented and have worked wonderful throughout the first three days of school!
Our softball team had their game on Monday cancelled due to weather, but they went to Douglas on Tuesday and got a big 4-1 win against a 6A team and they won 7-0 in their home opener on Thursday against Brunswick!
Our club leaders will be starting their meetings in the near future and we highly recommend that students get involved in an extra-curricular activity. The graduation rate statewide of a students involved in an activity is 99% verse the mid 80%.
Our football team is practicing hard as well as the band for their first game on Friday night in Alma!

We are excited to welcome everyone back to BCHS! We have a wonderful open house planned for our students (Monday, August 5) and parents and are looking forward to a great first day of school on Wednesday, August 7!
Please let us know if you need anything between now and the first day of school! We will be discussing new handbook topics on the first two days of school.
Just a few to highlight; students will be allowed to bring their lunch boxes to school, but we will not be allowed to bring food into the classrooms or have food delivered during lunch.
