Heron Happenings – Sept 13-18

We had a good short week at BCHS. Please continue to do your best to help mitigate the spreading of COVID. Our numbers at the school seem to be on the decline, which is a good thing. We are hopeful that we will get back to normal school schedule in the near future. Dr. Morgan and her team will look at the numbers again later this week and make a determination on continue A/B or getting back to a normal schedule. We will inform you as we know!

Reminder that Monday is a virtual learning day.

Also, we have pushed back the homecoming dance to November 13. We will make a determination once we get closer if the event will be indoors or outdoors. If outdoors, we will not allow for high heels on the fields. Platform shoes are ok, but nothing with a pointy end.

I want to with Ms. Tory Grace, our lunchroom manager, a Happy Birthday!

As you all as figured it out, it has been a bumpy time in Brantley County. We have had to move to a modified schedule in an effort to slow the spread the COVID.

All of our classrooms are ensuring that students are following the CDC guidelines for time and distance. We have also placed protocols in place during lunch.

On Monday, all students will have some work uploaded to their google classroom. Also, all teachers will be available for ‘office hours’ when they are needed.

Each Monday during A/B (as needed) a google meets will be shared with all students to meet with their teachers;

1st block – 9:00- 9:30

2nd block – 10:00- 10:30

3rd block – 11:00-11:30

4th block – 1:30-2:00

Teachers will make themselves available, as needed. Students will just need to email their teachers.

If you have further questions about the schedule, please email me.

We had a good first full week at BCHS. Our softball team was able to get three games in, the football team scrimmaged Vidalia, cross country started practice, the cheerleaders are working hard, the band did a practice show (it was magnificent), and the ROTC is going strong.

I want to encourage all students to practice social distancing, washing hands, and do all they can do to protect themselves.

I want to also encourage all students to get involved in an activity. Students that get involved will have a much better high school experience. Those involved have a graduation rate at BCHS is 100%.

If you have question, please contact the school.
