We had a great week at BCHS! Many of our clubs, sports, and other groups passed out hundreds of pieces of candy on Thursday evening to the young kids of Brantley County! It was great to see our students enjoying community outreach!
Our girls cross country team qualified for the state tournament on Wednesday and we had two individual boys that also qualified for the tournament.
Our football team beat Long County on Friday night in Ludowici! They played great and deserve lots of credit for continuing to work hard! We need a full house on Friday night to support these boys as they take on Tattnall!
On Monday November 2 we will celebrate the centennial (100 years) of Brantley County! It was the 158th out of 159 total counties created in Georgia! Mr. Dillan Lee has created a wonderful google slide that goes through some of the historical highlights of Brantley County!
We will also wear purple on Friday to honor Epilepsy Awareness Month. We have a handful of students that suffer from disease and we hope that discussion on how to better support those that deal with this disorder will occur.

The week started off rough with the passing of our Probate Judge and wonderful Brantley County resident, Mrs. Karen Batten. Please keep her family in your prayers.

Our softball team dropped two games to Morgan County and were eliminated from the state playoffs.
Our football team had a rough night against Pierce but we are looking forward to a tough fought match in Long County on Friday night.
Basketball tryouts start Monday and wrestling will not be far behind.
Our classes are going strong and the students are working hard. Please make sure that your child stays on top of their grades. If there are issues please contact your students teacher to set up a meeting. This has certainly been a crazy school year, but we are proud of the gains that our students have made!
I strongly encourage every child to get involved in a club or athletic group.
Please encourage your children to follow the rules and be leaders in the school. They have an opportunity to be named PBIS student of the week.

Wednesday: Cross County region meet at Jeff Davis – 9:00 AM
We have finished up our midterms this week. We will be giving out report cards to students on Friday, Oct. 16. If you student is not making positive progress in their class their teacher should have already reached out to you.
Our athletic teams had a busy week! The cross country boys finished 2nd on Wednesday and the girls finished 3rd! They will have regions in the next few weeks!
Our softball girls finished 3rd in grueling region tournament. They will start the playoffs next week.
Our JV football team beat Jeff Davis on Thursday.
Our Varsity football team fell to a really good Cook County team 40-23.
We will have career day on October 14. Our Seniors will have a virtual learning day. Their assignment must be complete by 3:00 PM – it will be for a grade.
Some of our students had their midterms on Thursday and Friday and the others will have their exams next Wednesday or Thursday. Please make sure that your student is studying for these exams!
Our cross country team is improving every week and we hope they can finish the season strong with the region competition getting closer!
Our softball team picked up two big wins this week and finished third in the regular season. The region tournament starts Tuesday in Bagley.
Our young Heron football team had a tough night in Frederica, but they continued to show a lot of heart throughout the game.
As the 9 weeks is coming to a close I want to thank all of our students for their hard work and dedication. Also, the faculty and staff for working hard to give our students the best opportunity given the difficult situation that we find ourselves in.
