We had a busy week at BCHS. Our students are working hard in their classes and continue to progress toward finishing this semesters credits! Please encourage your child to finish the semester strong!
Our FFA sent the state champion Environmental and Natural Resource team, lead by Mr. Richard Gill, up to Indianapolis to compete for a National Championship. While the team did not finish 1st in the nation they did finish 3rd — which is the second highest in school history! Last year the Poultry team, lead by Mrs. Chad Crews, finished 5th in the country. In the mid 90’s Mr. Gill took a team to the national convention and they won 1st place! The BCHS FFA continues to impress under the leadership of both Mr. Gill and Mr. Crews!
Our cross country team competed at the state tournament on Saturday! They did compete well and represented BCHS in a positive manner. It is not often that our boys and girls teams both make it to the state tournament. Coach Clay Johns and his assistants have done a tremendous job preparing our athletes.
The football lost a hard fought game against Liberty on Friday night. We are playing a Long County on Friday night in Ludowici… if we win the game we are in the playoffs for the 3rd time in school history and will finish the regular season at 5-5! We are really proud of Coach Geoff Cannon and his assistants for the job they have done this year!
Our BCHS basketball teams will have their first scrimmage this week at Glynn Academy!
