Heron Happenings – Oct. 28 – Nov. 1

The Herons had a great week! The cross country teams, both boys and girls, have qualified for the state tournament in Carrollton on November 2nd. The football team had  a tough game in Baxley on Friday night and basketball tryouts started this week! Wrestling was in full force with their fitness program starting.

The Heron band is coming off a big win in Pierce County and are preparing for their final show on Nov. 9th in Jacksonville, FL.

Our classes are going full blast and students are starting their second nine weeks grades. Please make sure that your child is working to keep their grades at a high level! The End of Course test will be here before we know it.

Heron Happenings – Oct. 21 -26

BCHS had a full week! Our Lady Herons hosted the Sweet 16 playoffs and came up short of making it to the state finals tournament. Our Cross country team competed well in Wayne County and our Varsity football team got a big win region play on Friday night! The band competed in Pierce County at their band completion on Saturday and did a great job. Basketball tryouts start on Monday and we move from one sport to the next fairly quickly!

On Friday our students received their report cards and we are looking forward to a great second nine weeks! We hope that your child continues to be present at school and continues to work hard! Please let us know if you have questions or if we can assist you in any way.

Heron Happenings – Oct.14-19

We have finished the first nine weeks and completed midterms this past week! Report cards will be given to students on Friday during homeroom. Please make sure that you ask your child about their report card on Friday. You can also continually keep an eye on their grades throughout the semester by getting access to their powerschool.

Our Lady Herons won the first round of the state playoffs and will host Jefferson on Wednesday for a doubleheader and the ‘if’ game on Thursday. Please come support our Lady Herons!

Our boys cross country team competed at Disney World on Friday and had a great time!

Our football team had a rough night at Pierce County, but are looking to bounce back against Tattnall on Friday night – at Caney Bay stadium! Please come support our boys!

Our CTSO’s (clubs) attended and competed at the Perry Fair this week! Our FFA students competed in the hog show. Mattie Davis finished 3rd in her class and Kaitlyn White won her class in commercial gilt!

Heron Happenings – Oct. 7-12

It has been a busy week at BCHS! Students are preparing for midterms which will be this week (Wednesday and Thursday). Please make sure that if you have concerns about your students grades that you contact their teachers ASAP.

Our Lady Heron Softball team won the region championship this week with a 3-1 win in the championship game over Pierce County. Both teams played a great game!

The Heron football team had a tough loss at McIntosh Academy, but we are excited about region play and looking to make the playoffs! Please continue to support our boys, band members, cheerleaders, and ROTC members!

Our Chorus has their first concert on Tuesday night.

Pink out Day on Friday to support Breast Cancer Awareness.
