We had a great first full week at BCHS! Students schedules were finalized and we are getting the grove of our classwork. Please make sure that you have your students information for the new APP that links to powerschool and other events at BCHS! This will be a great way for you to receive communication from the school and to keep an eye on your students grades and attendance.

We greatly appreciate our student resource officers and their continued efforts to keep our campus safe and secure. The maintainence department is currently working to complete the entry control point building at the middle school entrance and we hope to have that complete in the next handful of weeks.

Our softball team won their games this week and played three games on Saturday, where they won 2 and dropped 1. Our football team play 6:26 on Friday night and had an impressive scoring drive before have the game cancelled due to possible lightning in the area. Our cross country team will be up and going this week and we know they will have a wonderful season!

I would like to continue to encourage your student to get involved in a club… the graduate rate is much higher for students involved in an extra curricular activity than those that are not.

We will have Junior ring deliver on Wednesday morning at BCHS! We appreciate all the efforts of Herff Jones and their associates for their continued support of our students!

Heron Happenings – Aug.12-17

We had a great start to the school year! We were able to meet with all students and get most schedule changes fixed! Our new safety measures have been implemented and have worked wonderful throughout the first three days of school!

Our softball team had their game on Monday cancelled due to weather, but they went to Douglas on Tuesday and got a big 4-1 win against a 6A team and they won 7-0 in their home opener on Thursday against Brunswick!

Our club leaders will be starting their meetings in the near future and we highly recommend that students get involved in an extra-curricular activity. The graduation rate statewide of a students involved in an activity is 99% verse the mid 80%.
