Heron Happenings -Jan. 21-26

We have had a great week at BCHS! Report cards went out a week ago Friday, please make sure that you got your students report cards!

We had a great Senior night for our basketball athletes on Saturday. The wrestlers are having a great season and there individual state competition is coming up in the next few weeks. The Heron wrestlers finished third in the team competition in our area.

Both basketball teams are competing at a high level and are in the mix for 3rd place in the region! Let’s come out and support all our Heron athletics.

We hope that your student got off to a great start with the Spring semester. If you have questions please feel free to contact their teacher.

I hope that everyone had a Merry Christmas and a wonderful New Year. We are getting closer to school starting back! We had a wonderful first semester and are looking forward to a great second semester… please don’t hesitate to call if you need assistance with school related items!

Our renovations are coming along, both 3rd and 2nd hall are essentially complete (some minor touch up stuff here and there) and they have moved to 1st hall now. They are also nearing the completion of our new state of the art healthcare classroom – this will allow our students to be able to complete in the healthcare field not just in South Georgia, but around the state and nation. We are excited about the continued excellence of this program and its impact on our students and community! It is being led by Mrs. Stephanie Grant and Mrs. Marcia Wells – which are two wonderful educators and we are extremely thankful for the leadership of Mrs. Kristie Middleton as she ran the program for years prior to moving into the athletic training role.

Our basketball and wrestling teams are off to a great start and had a busy schedule of competitions and practices over the break. We are proud of all the hard work and dedication that these Herons have put in to excel at their sports! We have home events for both this week and a big away region game Friday night at Pierce County. Please come support our Herons!

I want to stress the importance of attendance at school – your child being present is paramount to their success and we have added incentives in place to allow your student to be exempt from final exams if they have the grades and attendance to meet the criteria listed in the handbook. Please encourage your child to attend school to they can achieve this reward.
