New Course Offerings at BCHS!!

New course offerings:

Game Design: Animation and Simulation

(Must take Intro to Digital Technology and Computer Science Principles first)

Contemporary Issues in Education

(Must take Examine the Teaching Profession first)

Practicum in Education

(Must take Examine the Teaching Profession and Contemporary Issues in Education first)

Audio Video Technology and Film 1 and 2

(Must take both in the same school year and be available after school occasionally to help video events)

Students wanting to participate in Work Based Learning (WBL):

Keep in mind there are requirements for grades and attendance that may keep you from participating.

Also, keep in mind that while there is no “required” prerequisite for WBL, Intro to Business and Technology is highly recommended. This course opens the door to more job opportunities as your job must relate to at least one CTAE course you have taken in high school.

Seniors- scholarship opportunity

If you are planning on pursuing a degree in the Agriculture Field, Home Economics, or related field, the Brantley County Farm Bureau Scholarship is now available. I have listed the eligibility criteria below and will post it on our Scholarship Guidance Website with the attached application link.

Applicants must be a high school senior in the upper one third (1/3) of his or her class and qualified to enter college in the fall term of the current year, or a full-time college student taking courses as prescribed in the field of agriculture and environmental sciences, family and consumer sciences, forestry or related agribusiness field and has maintained at least a 2.7 GPA.

A student can only be eligible for a scholarship award for four (4) consecutive years and must meet all requirements for each application.

A student is no longer eligible to apply for this after reaching age 23.

If you have questions regarding the scholarship and your college major, you could contact Ms. Estor Nettles with Farm Bureau, and she could probably point you in the right direction.
